Single Identification Number to Replace Tax ID Number in Indonesia

September 23, 2022
To support Indonesia’s one data policy, Ministry of Finance (MoF) has regulated a single, integrated identification number for its tax administration services. It is set in the MoF Regulation Number: 112/PMK.03/2022 (“PMK-112”) issued on July 8, 2022 by changing Tax ID Number (“TIN/NPWP”) into Residency ID Number (“NIK”).

PMK-112 can be outlined as follows:
As of July 14, 2022:
  1. Every resident taxpayer will use their NIK as their NPWP
  2. Every non-resident taxpayer, entity, and government agency will use their new NPWP consisting of a 16-digit number
