Single Identification Number to Replace Tax ID Number

October 31, 2023

To support Indonesia’s one data policy, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has regulated an integrated single identification number for its tax administration services. It is set in the  MoF Regulation Number: 112/PMK.03/2022 (“PMK-112”) which was issued on July 8, 2022 by changing Tax ID Number (“TIN/ NPWP”) into Residency ID Number (“NIK”).

The outline of PMK-112 are as follows:

As of July 14, 2022:

  1. Every resident taxpayer will use their NIK as their NPWP; and
  2. Every non-resident taxpayer, entity, and government agency will use the new NPWP consisting of a 16-digit number.
