He has 40 years of  tax experience and served as a Tax Partner at Arthur Andersen/ Ernst & Young, an Associate Professor at the University of Malaya and Chairman of Taxand Malaysia (now known as Tricor Taxand), which is a member of the Taxand Global organisation of independent tax firms in 50 countries. 

He sits on the Boards of AmBank Bhd, UMW Holdings Bhd and Malaysian Rating Corporation Bhd and  is President of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants .
