Code: The New Universal Language of Business

Technology is not only disrupting business models, but also the skills required to be a successful business leader. Previous generations of executives learned English to maximise the opportunities afforded by the Internet and globalisation. Today’s leaders of the digital economy are learning a new language: code.

Coding is not a common skill, creating great demand for it in the labour market. According to Vishal Sikka, the former CEO of the IT consulting firm, Infosys: “The number of people who can programme a computer today is less than the number of people who could read and write in the dark ages.”
