1. How do you measure success, what does success mean to you?
Each person measures success differently. To me, success means figuring out the things that really matter in life, setting clear goals and working very hard to accomplish them. The process is more valuable than the result. Learning from failure, trying new strategies, the transformation through such processes is the most exciting part of life.
2. Share a book/person that has most influenced your career or life? And why?
Principles, by Ray Dalio, the CEO of Bridgewater Associates, continues to provide me with invaluable guidance on life principles.
One of his unique insights is to “look to nature to learn how reality works”. We often ignore the universal law of nature and get stuck in fixed patterns of thinking that were taught in school or learnt at work. Things are more easily understood when you apply simple rules of nature from the top down. As a matter of fact, the best classroom is the nature and the rule that drives them all is evolution.3.
